Bernie Ecclestone sugere que o público vai acabar esquecendo a polêmica de Christian Horner, comparando com a forma como as pessoas superaram a Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Bernie Ecclestone expressed an interesting point of view about the public perception surrounding the investigation of Christian Horner. The Team Principal of Red Bull faced a challenging period at the beginning of the 2023 season when he was accused of inappropriate behavior by an employee in Milton Keynes. However, an independent investigation cleared Horner of all charges. Despite this, tensions persisted within the Austrian team. Ecclestone, the former F1 Supremo, recently made a comparison that makes us reflect on this case.

Ecclestone suggested that it was time for reconciliation in Milton Keynes. Furthermore, he was informed that Red Bull team boss Horner no longer had issues with his wife, Geri Halliwell. The 93-year-old former F1 Supremo believed that Horner would likely remain at Red Bull despite rumors of a possible departure.

Drawing a parallel, Ecclestone compared Horner’s situation to World War II. He stated that, just like in any war, people eventually move past the controversies surrounding Christian Horner’s investigation. Ecclestone recalled how, after World War II, Jews initially boycotted German products. However, normalcy was restored shortly after, with Jews happily buying Mercedes cars made in Germany.

Although Christian Horner’s position at Red Bull has been the subject of rumors due to the whole case, he had the support of the main shareholders of Red Bull GmbH, who are from Thailand. Furthermore, it is believed that Horner further solidified his position after a high-level meeting of Red Bull in Dubai a few weeks ago.

Bernie Ecclestone stated that there was no justification for firing Christian Horner. The former F1 Supremo believed that time heals all wounds, and Horner continued to excel in his role as team principal of Red Bull Racing in Milton Keynes. Ecclestone also mentioned that Horner received support from Halliwell and his team after the investigation was concluded.

Christian Horner will continue to lead Red Bull Racing in the foreseeable future. Despite previous tensions, the 50-year-old man seems to be firmly established within the Austrian team. Horner’s current goal is to guide Milton Keynes to achieve their fourth consecutive drivers’ title with Max Verstappen this season, as well as the third consecutive constructors’ championship.
