Christian Horner afirma que a Red Bull experimentou várias configurações de asa dianteira RB20 para garantir a pole position à frente da Ferrari na rodada de Qualificação do Grande Prêmio da Austrália.

Max Verstappen narrowly secured pole position ahead of Carlos Sainz in the Australian Grand Prix. Red Bull made several changes to the car setup to outperform Ferrari.

The Australian GP has been an exciting race weekend so far, with Red Bull anticipating a strong challenge from Ferrari at Albert Park. Carlos Sainz came close to taking pole position from the three-time world champion. However, Verstappen once again put in an impressive lap to secure Scuderia’s pole position. The Red Bull team in Milton Keynes admitted to making several changes to the setup to achieve this result.

Red Bull acknowledged that they lost a significant amount of time in the final sector at Albert Park throughout the weekend. However, Milton Keynes managed to find the right balance during qualifying. Team principal Christian Horner emphasized that Verstappen’s two laps in the top 10 were enough to secure pole position.

In addition, Christian Horner praised Verstappen for his qualifying performance, which secured him third place on the starting grid. However, a three-place grid penalty will force Perez to start the race from sixth position.

The 50-year-old team principal revealed that Red Bull explored several changes to the front wing of the RB20. This allowed the car to gain momentum as the session progressed in windy conditions. Horner also praised Verstappen for his ability to put in a pole-winning lap in cooler temperatures towards the end of the session.

Charles Leclerc, from Ferrari, will start alongside Max Verstappen in the race. This sets the stage for an exciting battle between the two drivers at the start. Sergio Perez acknowledged that Red Bull will face a tough challenge from Ferrari in the Australian GP. Additionally, Perez highlighted that high tire degradation could lead other teams to compete as well.

Perez emphasized that track position is currently not as crucial due to the rapid tire degradation. In fact, Red Bull adjusted their strategy for Sunday’s race accordingly. Perez expressed his curiosity about how the grid will handle tire degradation in the Grand Prix.

Red Bull and Ferrari may be equally balanced in the Australian GP on Sunday. However, Max Verstappen has gained a reputation for effectively managing his tires in the era of Formula 1 ground effect. This could potentially give the Dutchman an advantage over his rivals. However, it remains to be seen whether Ferrari will finally be able to secure a victory against the current world champions.
