Chefe da FIA enfrenta críticas por pedir que Max Verstappen proteja Christian Horner.

The situation surrounding Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, has been a major topic of discussion in the Formula 1 community. FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem intervened and asked Max Verstappen to publicly support Horner amidst the ongoing controversy, which Ben Sulayem had previously deemed detrimental to the sport.

This request came after a challenging weekend for Red Bull at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where Verstappen’s victory was overshadowed by accusations against Horner. Despite Red Bull’s parent company rejecting the allegations against Horner, the situation escalated with the leak of an email containing purported information about the investigation. Horner chose to remain silent, stating he could not comment on speculative reports.

The complexity of the situation was compounded by comments from Jos Verstappen, Max’s father, who expressed his wish for Horner to resign in interviews with the Daily Mail and De Telegraaf. He highlighted the potential for internal tension if Horner continued in his role, suggesting the situation was untenable.

In response to the FIA President’s request, Max Verstappen praised Horner’s leadership and expressed confidence in Horner’s management skills despite the distractions. Verstappen emphasized the team’s focus on performance and their collaborative efforts to maintain a competitive edge.

Red Bull Racing denied any internal discord and reaffirmed their commitment to their racing activities. Jos Verstappen also denied any involvement in the leak of the controversial email, highlighting his son’s successful relationship with the team and dismissing any reason to disrupt the team dynamic.

This ongoing saga highlights the challenges of managing team dynamics in the high-pressure world of Formula 1. The sport’s governing bodies, team leaders, and drivers must navigate controversies while striving to maintain focus on the competitive aspects of racing.
