Carlos Sainz expresses joy about Charles Leclerc’s victory in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Carlos Sainz expressa alegria sobre vitória de Charles Leclerc no GP de Mônaco.

Carlos Sainz reached a podium and secured third place at the Monaco Grand Prix. The Scuderia Ferrari driver expressed his joy and excitement for his teammate’s first victory on home soil. Sainz delivered a strong performance in the recent race and crossed the finish line in third place.

Sainz has been in excellent form since recovering from his appendicitis surgery during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend. He clinched his first win of the season at the Australian Grand Prix. However, the Spaniard was particularly thrilled to witness Charles Leclerc’s triumph in his home race, displaying a relentless performance throughout the Monaco weekend.

There are currently uncertainties regarding Sainz’s future in Formula 1, as his contract with Ferrari expires at the end of this season. The seven-time world champion is expected to take his place with the Tifosi for the 2025 campaign. However, the Spanish driver has remained dedicated to the team despite the uncertainty about his future.

Carlos Sainz shared his thoughts on the race, stating: “It was a tight battle, and I had a terrible feeling on lap 1 that turned into a great feeling when I was reinstated in third place. However, I am extremely happy to see Charles win his home Grand Prix and be able to celebrate with him.”

Sainz encountered a stroke of bad luck early in the Monaco race, as he punctured his car’s tire entering turn 1, leading him to believe his race was over. Fortunately, a red flag caused by collisions involving other drivers allowed him to return to the pits. There, he switched to new tires and managed to race back to secure third place.

While Ferrari had a memorable performance in Monaco, the same cannot be said for Alpine. The team principal, Bruno Famin, was visibly furious after Esteban Ocon made a reckless move on his teammate, Pierre Gasly, resulting in Gasly’s retirement from the race. Ocon attempted to overtake Gasly with a reckless maneuver, leading to a collision between the two drivers.

Esteban Ocon’s attempt to overtake Pierre Gasly during the first lap of the race was not the appropriate action to take, especially considering they were teammates. Ocon did not leave space for his teammate, causing Gasly to collide with the rear of Ocon’s car and ultimately forcing the 26-year-old driver to retire on the first lap of the race.

This incident occurred at a time when Alpine was starting to find its rhythm during the Monaco weekend, following a poor performance throughout the season. Gasly managed to secure tenth place and earn a single point, while Ocon ended up with a Did Not Finish (DNF) result. The latter is also expected to receive a penalty in the next race due to his actions in Monaco.
