Adrian Newey deve se encontrar com Toto Wolff no Grande Prêmio de Miami após especulações sobre o encontro de Max Verstappen com a Mercedes.

According to rumors, there are speculations that Adrian Newey, renowned Formula 1 designer, will have a meeting with Toto Wolff, head of Mercedes, possibly to discuss a potential move to the Silver Arrows. Newey, widely considered the greatest designer in Formula 1 history, is highly sought after by several teams on the grid. However, he has not made any definitive decisions recently. Amidst these rumors, the Englishman is scheduled to meet with Wolff at an undisclosed location.

The news of Newey’s possible departure from Red Bull at the end of the 2024 season surprised the entire Formula 1 community. The 65-year-old Briton has been with the Milton Keynes-based team since 2005 and has led them to numerous championship victories. However, the ongoing power struggle within the team may have influenced Newey to consider a move elsewhere.

Sources indicate that Newey will meet with Wolff to discuss his contract with Mercedes. These rumors emerged after the alleged meeting between Wolff and Newey following the recent race, likely influenced by Newey’s lucrative $150 million contract. However, specific details about this meeting have not been disclosed. Nevertheless, Mercedes will make every effort to secure an agreement with Newey in order to thrive during the upcoming regulatory changes in 2026.

Newey’s contributions to Red Bull since 2005 have earned him immense admiration and respect within the team. Consequently, most people in Milton Keynes prefer to see the 65-year-old Briton remain with the team. In the past, Newey has expressed his pleasure in working with the Austrian constructor and his deep involvement with the team. He described his experience at Red Bull as “comfortable” and emphasized the strong bond that exists among team members, likening it to a family.

Although Newey has not explicitly ruled out the possibility of leaving Red Bull in the future, doing so would mean leaving behind a significant part of his career. He compared leaving the team to abandoning his family, highlighting the close relationship he shares with the Red Bull team in Formula 1.

As a result, Newey has become the center of attention in the Formula 1 paddock in recent weeks. Not only Mercedes, but Ferrari and Aston Martin have also expressed interest in acquiring his services. Therefore, the 65-year-old Briton has no shortage of options if he decides to leave Red Bull. However, ideally, Adrian Newey would prefer to continue his journey with the Milton Keynes-based team beyond the current season.
