Red Bull anuncia que Perez ficará na F1 até 2026.

Sergio Perez, a Mexican driver, will continue racing for Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 until at least the 2026 season, according to an announcement made by the World Champions on Tuesday. The 34-year-old driver, who joined the team in 2021 after stints with Sauber, McLaren, and Force India/Racing Point, finished second in the championship last year. Although his current contract was set to expire after the 2024 campaign, Red Bull has now extended it for another two years, alongside World Champion Max Verstappen.

Perez expressed his joy in committing his future to the team, stating that racing for Red Bull Racing is a unique challenge on and off the track. He expressed his excitement to continue the journey with the team and contribute to its rich history over the next two years. Perez acknowledged the immense challenge of being part of the team and expressed his confidence in the team’s bright future. He thanked everyone for their trust and promised to repay it with excellent results on and off the track, emphasizing the goal of winning more championships together.

Although Perez has faced some difficulties this year and currently sits in fifth place in the championship, team boss Christian Horner expressed confidence in the Mexican driver’s ability to bounce back. Horner emphasized the importance of continuity and stability for the team and praised the successful partnership between Perez and Verstappen. He highlighted Perez’s strong start to the 2024 season and expressed optimism about his return to top form and performance. Horner acknowledged that retaining their titles will require hard work, but he remains confident in his lineup and the team as a whole, especially in the face of a tight championship this year.
