The highly anticipated successor to the Chiron is set to make its debut in mid-2024, according to Nicole Auger, the chief of communications at Bugatti. While details about the hypercar remain scarce, it is expected to be even more exclusive than its predecessors, the Chiron and the Veyron. Production is rumored to be limited, with the exact number of units to be announced later.
Speculation about the powertrain of the new hypercar is still ongoing. Some suggest it could feature a new V16 engine developed by Cosworth, while others believe it might adopt Lamborghini’s V12 or a V8 from the Volkswagen Group. Regardless of the engine choice, Mate Rimac, the CEO of Bugatti-Rimac, confirmed that the hypercar will be “heavily electrified.” The official presentation of the vehicle took place behind closed doors at the end of last year.
In terms of design, the upcoming hypercar is expected to be a game-changer. Achim Anscheidt, the former Design Director at Bugatti, described it as “amazing, proportionally, technologically, in terms of innovation and in terms of unexpectedness.” He also mentioned that it will “blow people out of the water completely.” The design department is now led by Frank Heyl, who will shape Bugatti’s future models.
While specific details about the hypercar are still unknown, it is anticipated to surpass the Chiron in terms of power, technology, design, and comfort. Unfortunately, it will not feature the iconic W16 8.0-liter quad-turbo engine that has been synonymous with Bugatti. As the unveiling date approaches, more information and possibly prototypes are expected to be revealed.
