New Lancia Ypsilon Edizione Limitata Cassina: A Tribute to the Past

In a nod to its rich history, Lancia is set to release the new Ypsilon Edizione Limitata Cassina in a limited edition of only 1906 units. This number pays homage to the year the iconic Italian brand was founded. But that’s not all – Lancia has even more exciting plans in store, with the upcoming launch of electric and mild-hybrid versions.

The first edition to hit the market is a fully electric model that showcases Lancia’s fresh design language. With its illuminated “calice” grille, distinctive polygonal headlights, and round taillights inspired by the legendary Lancia Stratos, this car is a true head-turner. Glossy black accents adorn the front end, wheel arches, C-pillar, and tailgate, adding a touch of sophistication. Lancia has stayed true to the model’s DNA, keeping the mirror caps, greenhouse proportions, and overall appearance reminiscent of the previous generation.

Lancia’s commitment to simplicity, speed, and digital innovation is evident in the Ypsilon Edition Limitata Cassina. The exclusive Blu Zaffiro paintwork gives it a unique and stylish look. Inside the cabin, you’ll find the unmistakable touch of Cassina, the renowned Italian luxury furniture manufacturer. The use of high-quality materials and meticulous attention to detail elevates the Ypsilon from its budget car origins, setting it apart from other models in the lineup. The seats are upholstered in plush velvet with a charming “cannelloni” motif, while the center console features a circular “tavolino” or small table.

Lancia has also introduced the Sound Air Light Augmentation (SALA) infotainment system in the Ypsilon. This cutting-edge technology comes with a virtual assistant and a dual-screen layout for the digital instrument cluster. The brand is placing its hopes on the Ypsilon to revive its entire lineup, as it is currently the only model in production since 2024. However, Lancia has plans to launch two more models in the near future – the Gamma crossover and the Delta hatchback.

While Lancia is keeping the specifications of the Ypsilon under wraps, the car is expected to have a range of 403 kilometers (250 miles) before needing to be recharged. This impressive distance is made possible by the 54 kWh battery pack, similar to those found in other Stellantis models like the Peugeot e-208 and Corsa-e. Additionally, a hybrid version integrating a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine is also anticipated to join the lineup.

Stay tuned for more updates as Lancia prepares to unveil the Ypsilon Edizione Limitata Cassina in Milan on February 14. This car is not just a vehicle; it’s a tribute to Lancia’s storied past and a promising step towards a bright future.
