Xiaomi seems to be walking from success to success, despite some setbacks along the way. However, the Chinese brand launched its second 100% electric car, the YU7 SUV, this Thursday in Beijing, revealing that three minutes after the launch, YU7 sales reached 200,000 units.

The brand also announced that the YU7 has a starting price of ¥253,500 (approximately €35,135) for the version with a CLTC range, Chinese, of up to 830 km.

To reserve the new Xiaomi model, customers must make a refundable deposit of 5,000 yuan, so that the order is automatically blocked for seven days. However, for customers who immediately paid a deposit of ¥20,000, about €2,400, they immediately secure their new SUV and will receive the YU7 soon, as Xiaomi states that there is a small number of “almost ready vehicles” for delivery.

It is worth noting that the new model is based on Xiaomi’s Modena platform, and measures 4.99 meters in length, 1.99 m in width, and 1.60 m in height, with a wheelbase of 3.00 meters.

In terms of powertrains, Xiaomi’s electric SUV comes in three variants: one variant equipped with a single rear motor, which offers 315 hp and 528 Nm of maximum torque, with rear-wheel drive, and promises to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds, reaching a top speed of 240 km/h. This version is equipped with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery that promises 835 km of range.

The YU7 Pro variant is equipped with two electric motors that offer a combined power of 490 hp and 690 Nm, with all-wheel drive, allowing for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.27 seconds, and a top speed of 240 km/h. The two electric motors of the Pro version are powered by a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, which claims 770 km of range in the Chinese CLTC cycle.
