Xiaomi announced this Friday the inauguration of its new Research and Development (R&D) and Design center in Munich, Germany, which is the first unit of this kind for the brand outside of China.
This strategic milestone reinforces Xiaomi’s global commitment to smart mobility and automotive innovation, thereby consolidating the vision of the smart ecosystem “Human x Car x Home”.
The new center of the Chinese brand in Munich will focus on the development of high-performance vehicles, advanced technologies for electric vehicles, innovative design solutions, and advanced research.
Xiaomi has already announced that the new Development and Research center will bring together engineers, designers, and researchers who will work closely with Xiaomi’s global teams to enhance vehicle performance, autonomous driving, electric platforms, and next-generation user experiences.
At the same time, the new infrastructure will foster collaborations with research institutions and establish strategic partnerships across sectors, accelerating smart mobility solutions and ecosystem integration, while also addressing critical challenges such as infrastructure and the ethics of Artificial Intelligence.
The inauguration of this Xiaomi research center in Europe comes after the success of the launch of the SU7, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, and YU7 models in China, in order to prepare for entry into the European market in 2027.
