Jesse Love suffered a major accident during the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in Iowa, resulting in a Did Not Finish (DNF) for him. The race was filled with high-risk incidents that had a significant impact on the overall outcome. One of these incidents involved a young driver from Richard Childress Racing, driving the Chevy No:2, who crashed on the last lap of stage two while competing for stage points.
During the final laps of stage two, Love was involved in an intense battle for stage points with his teammate. Despite experiencing some vibrations in his car, he managed to secure P10 in the stage and informed RCR about the issue. Unfortunately, the vibrations turned out to be a serious problem.
Upon completing the stage, Love lost control of his car and crashed hard into the wall. The Chevy No:2 sustained significant damage and had to be towed to the garage by track officials. While being towed, the car caught fire, starting on the hood.
The safety team acted quickly to extinguish the fire and move the truck away from the burning car. Love could only watch from the outside as his car burned. In the end, he finished in P31, while his teammate Hill also had a DNF after an accident in stage three, finishing in P29.
After being released from the circuit’s medical center, Love, the ARCA Series champion, discussed the incident and speculated that his rear tire may have been cut during the impact, leading to the collision.
Despite having a strong rookie season in the second division, Love has been facing difficulties recently, not finishing in the top ten in the last four races. However, he remains hopeful for a comeback in the next race in New Hampshire.
