SHR plans to reduce its operations in 2025. Since the beginning of the Next-Gen era, the Cup team Stewart Haas Racing seems to have lost the quality that distinguished them as one of the top teams. Although they managed to secure some good points in 2022, the year 2023 was disastrous for them as they ended the season without any wins. The situation worsened in 2024 after losing their experienced driver.
Recently, there have been numerous rumors circulating about the team’s intention to downsize in the 2025 season. Some reports even suggested a possible merger between SHR and Front Raw Motorsports. Now, the driver of the No:14 Ford Mustang, Chase Briscoe, has come forward to address the rumors and uncertainty regarding his future.
Amid ongoing speculations about the future of Stewart Haas Racing, Chase Briscoe feels that every race is an opportunity to prove himself. He expressed his concerns, stating: “Obviously, there’s concern whenever there are rumors […] you start to feel a little anxious.” More information can be found here: [link to article]
Chase Briscoe admitted that he is not aware of what is happening behind the scenes at SHR. However, he believes that the team will continue to exist in the future and is confident that he has shown enough to remain a part of it. Nevertheless, he admits to being a little nervous due to the abundance of rumors circulating and the team’s silence on the matter.
The former Xfinity Series champion emphasized that he considers every race as an opportunity to showcase his skills and prove his worth to the team. He acknowledged that he has approached races with this mindset for a long time, but now it holds even greater importance.
Although it is understandable that Briscoe is concerned about his future, he should be the least worried. This is because he is undoubtedly the best driver at SHR and the only one to have won a Cup race. Additionally, he is the only driver with a significant sponsorship deal, and if he can maintain Mahindra’s sponsorship, SHR would think twice before replacing him.
