Urus SE: SUV desportivo da Lamborghini ganha versão híbrida plug-in com 800 cv

Lamborghini opens a new chapter in the history of the Urus SE , with the launch of the first plug-in hybrid version of the high-performance SUV.

The Urus SE is the second hybrid from the house of Sant’Agata Bolognese, featuring optimized aerodynamics and a hybrid powertrain capable of producing 800 hp at 6000 rpm and a torque of 950 Nm available between 1750 and 5750 rpm.

Contributing to this is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine, the same one used by the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, with which the Lamborghini SUV shares the platform, with 620 hp and a torque of 800 Nm, combined with an electric motor integrated into the gearbox, providing an additional 192 hp and 483 Nm of maximum torque, powered by a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery located under the trunk floor and above the electronically controlled rear differential.

The permanent magnet synchronous electric motor located within the 8-speed automatic transmission can act as a “boost” for the V8 combustion engine, but also as a traction element, making the Urus SE a 100% electric 4WD vehicle capable of traveling more than 60 km in purely electric mode.

Thus, the Urus SE is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 312 km/h.

Lamborghini states that these numbers make the Urus SE the fastest production model in the segment, thus setting a new benchmark in the Super SUV category.

Another novelty of the new plug-in hybrid model from Lamborghini is the new centrally located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-disc clutch that variably distributes torque between the front and rear axles and works in symbiosis with the new electronically controlled rear differential lock and torque vectoring system.

Both systems are designed and calibrated to better adapt to any type of surface and grip condition, as well as driving style, in order to provide maximum traction and agility.

Esthetically Lamborghini took advantage of the launch of the Urus SE to enhance the lines of the Super SUV, which reveals a front section marked by a new hood and elements inherited from the super sports car Revuelto.

In addition, the bumper and grille were also redesigned, and the headlights are equipped with LED Matrix technology. In profile. Highlight for the 23” Galanthus wheels, which mount Pirelli P Zero tires specifically developed for this model.

Already in the rear section, the redesigned tailgate deserves attention, as well as the taillights and the generous diffuser, which according to the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand contributed to increasing the downforce at high speeds of the Urus SE by 35%, compared to the S version with a combustion engine.

In addition, aerodynamic efficiency was also improved with new air outlets under the bodywork and renewed air ducts, which channel more airflow to cool the mechanical components and engine: an increase of 15% compared to the original Urus. Lamborghini also revealed that the new front section design, combined with an optimization of the aerodynamic bottom, also improved the management of airflow dedicated to the braking system, with a 30% improvement in air cooling compared to the previous system.

In the interior, the Urus SE does not differ much from the S version, however, the infotainment system now features a larger screen, going from 10.1’’ to 12.3’’, which according to the Italian brand is even more intuitive to use, benefiting from renewed menus and enhanced graphics.

The Italian brand also pointed out that the Urus SE offers a wide range of customization with over 100 body color options available, including two new ones: Arancio Egon (orange), in combination with Arancio Apodis (orange) interior, and Bianco Sapphirus (white) with Terra Kedros (terracotta) interior.

For the interior, there are 47 color combinations and four types of stitching (Q-citura stitching), with additional potential offered through the Ad Personam program, which allows owners to customize the Urus SE to their liking.

“With the Urus, we changed the paradigms of the SUV world, inaugurating a new segment”, commented Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini. “In just a few years, the Urus has become the best-selling model of our brand, allowing Lamborghini to attract new customers and strengthen its position in the most important markets. With the Urus SE, we take another step towards the future in line with our electrification strategy and the journey towards decarbonization that began with the introduction of the Revuelto supercar in March 2023.”
