The Toyota RAV4 is one of the flagship models of the Japanese brand, and the world’s largest car manufacturer knows that declines in sales have affected the well-known SUV, which is why it is preparing to unveil a new concept of the model.
This is the Dark Side Performance, which will be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show, taking place from January 10 to 12, 2025, and is announced as a futuristic concept, different from the conventional image we know of the RAV4.
Toyota has in its portfolio some versions of the RAV4 more geared towards off-road adventure; however, it does not have a version more focused on high performance on the road. Perhaps that is why this Dark Side Performance could be precisely the model missing from the RAV4 lineup.
In the “teaser” revealed by Toyota, it is evident that this Dark Side may feature the GR signature, considering the muscular appearance of the concept, with generously sized fenders, as well as large air intakes at the front, along with some exclusive lighting elements around a closed grille, indicating that we might be looking at a 100% electric model.
This more radical SUV will be presented by Toyota at the Tokyo Motor Show, and it is certain that it is a concept, with no indication from the Japanese brand that it might create a production model based on this Dark Side Performance.
