Sales of 100% electric models in Europe in April were highlighted, with BYD surpassing Tesla sales for the first time.
However, in the sales ranking among the best-selling models, April brought surprises, with the Skoda Elroq being the best-selling model in the fourth month of the year, with 7,998 units delivered, according to data revealed by “JATO Dynamics” this Thursday.
Behind the model from the Mladá Boleslav brand are the models from VW’s electric family, with the ID.3 in second place with 6,932 units sold, followed by the ID.7 with 6,776 and the ID.4 with 6,297.
The first model that does not belong to the VW Group is the Kia EV3, the compact SUV from the South Korean brand that sold 5,680 units in April, directly entering the fifth position in the sales ranking in Europe.
It is also worth noting that Renault registered more than 5,600 units of the Renault 5 E-Tech, making it the sixth most registered electric vehicle in the European market last month.
In contrast, the volumes of the Tesla Model Y and the Volvo EX30 fell by 53% and 57%, respectively, with Elon Musk’s brand model occupying the ninth position among the best-selling models with 4,495 units, while the Swedish brand’s SUV sold 3,712 units in April.
