An extremely important model for VW Europe, the second-generation T-Roc is currently being dynamically presented to the international press in Portugal. Produced at the Autoeuropa factory in Palmela, originally launched in 2017, and modernized in 2021, it is the best-selling car of the German brand on the Old Continent, a status it maintains even at the end of its lifecycle.
In this second “life,” alongside the 1.5 eTSi engine with 48 V hybrid technology (which will be offered at the start of sales, from January, in 116 hp and 150 hp versions), and its hybrid counterpart 1.5 TSI that will be introduced during 2026 (in the 136 hp and 170 hp variants), the SUV will again feature a sporty variant, set to launch in 2027, which has already been shown to the press, albeit still very “camouflaged,” as it is still in the development phase. Naturally named T-Roc R, it mounts the same mechanics known from the Golf R, where the four-cylinder 2.0 TSI with 333 hp and 420 Nm is combined with the DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission with seven speeds and the 4Motion all-wheel drive system).
