Nova geração do BMW iX3 entra nos testes finais antes da estreia

BMW has announced that the development of the first mass-production model of the Neue Klasse is in the final stretch, and that prototypes of the next generation BMW iX3 are currently undergoing intensive testing in southern France, ahead of its debut in September at the Munich Motor Show.

Greater range, faster charging, and operation supported by a set of technology backed by “four super brains” are the characteristics that define the first model of the Neue Klasse line.

“With the upcoming BMW iX3 – the first model of the new generation of cars – we are introducing fundamental technological updates with the clear aim of elevating the typical driving pleasure of BMW to a whole new level”, said Mike Reichelt, director of the Neue Klasse range.

The new BMW SUV will feature the Gen6 platform, which promises a significant gain in terms of range, with BMW announcing a range of up to 800 km. Additionally, it includes an 800V architecture that will allow for fast charging at 400 kW, enabling the addition of over 350 km (WLTP) in just 10 minutes.

The new platform also allows for the use of lighter and more efficient engines, capable of accommodating up to four engines, one for each wheel, for the top-of-the-line variants.

The new model line, Neue Klasse, will also feature functionalities such as Vehicle to Load (V2L), which allows powering electrical devices, as well as Vehicle to Home (V2H), which supplies energy to a house.

BMW also revealed that the new generation of the iX3 will be equipped with Panoramic iDrive, which displays all relevant driving information in the driver’s ideal line of sight and maximizes ergonomic efficiency and safety.

To achieve this, four elements come together to create a unique user experience: the BMW Panoramic Vision, with information projected onto a printed black surface on the windshield, between the two A-pillars; the optional 3D Head-Up Display; the central screen with matrix backlighting technology; and the Shy-tech multifunction steering wheel, with illuminated buttons when functions are available, a textured surface, and active tactile feedback allowing for intuitive operation without the driver needing to take their eyes off the road.

BMW has already announced that the world debut of the new generation of the BMW iX3 is scheduled for the Munich Motor Show in Germany, which will take place from September 9 to 14.
