Stellantis expects to start production of the new hybrid Fiat 500 in November, and the new model will be built at the historic Mirafiori plant in Turin, alongside the fully electric version, aiming to revitalize the Fiat brand in the European market, as well as increase the brand’s production volumes in Italy.
Fiat has already announced that it aims for an annual production of 100,000 units for its new hybrid model, with this year expected to produce 5,000 units, and Fiat’s CEO, Olivier Francois, according to “Reuters,” has already announced that the hybrid version of the 500 will have a price of €17,000.
The CEO of Fiat also stated that the brand plans to launch an updated and more affordable version of the fully electric 500 in 2027, with an estimated selling price of “€20,000 or even less”, benefiting from batteries that will be manufactured in-house.
Stellantis is also working on a new generation of the 500, expected to be produced in Mirafiori around 2030. “We are designing the new model, which will be electric and also hybrid, depending on regulations and market response in the coming years,” said Oliver François.
