Tesla announced that its V4 superchargers have arrived in the Chinese market, which is seen as an important milestone in Elon Musk’s brand expansion in the world’s largest electric vehicle market.
Tesla announced that in the initial phase, the superchargers will only serve Tesla vehicle users, but they will soon be available for drivers of other 100% electric models.
The Tesla V4 superchargers, in this first phase, cover important cities such as Shanghai, Chongqing, Gansu, and Zhejiang, and it is another step for the American electric vehicle brand to strengthen its infrastructure and meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in China.
Elon Musk’s brand has already announced that soon, the superchargers will arrive in the city of Beijing, as well as in Guangdong province and other locations.
It is worth noting that the V4 superchargers were launched for the first time in the United States in October 2023, being so far the most powerful from Tesla, with up to 500 kW of power.
Industry experts believe that Tesla’s supercharger expansion strategy in China will help the American electric vehicle brand reach a broader market, as well as attract new customers and encourage electric mobility.
Currently, Tesla has over 2,100 charging stations in Chinese territory, with more than 11,600 active charging points. Globally, the American company has surpassed 70,000 superchargers installed, consolidating its global presence in electric vehicle infrastructure.
