After the US and China decided to reduce tariffs on imports, Tesla will resume imports from China for the production of the Cybercab and the Semi.
Following the suspension of production work on the two models due to the worsening of the trade “war” between the US and China, Elon Musk’s brand is now preparing to resume the import of parts for both models, as reported this Wednesday by “Reuters.”
Tesla suspended the shipment of parts for the production of the two models last month after US President Donald Trump raised tariffs on Chinese products to 145%.
It is worth noting that Tesla plans to begin experimental production of both models in October and mass production in 2026.
The Cybercab will be built at Tesla’s factory in Texas, while the fully electric heavy vehicle, Semi, will be produced at the manufacturing unit in Nevada.
The delay in starting production of the first units is thus attributed to Trump’s tariffs, aimed at boosting US industrial production, which ultimately harmed his political ally, Elon Musk.
