The Stellantis closed the year 2023 with an undisputed leadership in the Portuguese market of new vehicles, both in absolute terms and in its divisions of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

According to ACAP data, the Group sold 59,884 vehicles, giving it a market share of 26.2%, which means that about 1 in every 4 cars sold in the country in 2023 comes from one of its brands: Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, Opel or Peugeot.

Regarding the Passenger Vehicles market, Stellantis brands accounted for 46,238 cars sold, which translates into a market share of 23.2%, a value that once again consolidates Stellantis at the top of the Portuguese market for this type of vehicles. In the Light Commercial Vehicles market, it achieved a market share of 47.8%, corresponding to 13,646 units sold.

Stellantis also placed four of its models among the top 10 best-selling cars in Portugal in 2023: Peugeot 2008, Peugeot 208, Peugeot Partner, and Opel Corsa.

In terms of electrified vehicles (100% electric and Plug-in Hybrids), Stellantis once again led the low-emission vehicle market in 2023 with a total of 11,972 new vehicles and a market share of 18.1%.

However, the highlight is Stellantis’ undisputed leadership in the market for 100% electric Commercial Vehicles, with 1,512 e-vans sold to date and a market share of 61.6%. Peugeot, Citroën, and Opel are the three brands with the best-selling BEV proposals in this market.
