Smart may be working on a new 100% electric model, a sedan that the brand could unveil later this year, which is expected to be named Smart #6, joining the already known #1, #3, and #5 models.
The news reported by the British “Autocar” suggests that the new model may adopt a four-door sedan body style to compete with the Tesla Model 3.
Everything indicates that the new Smart model will feature an aerodynamically advanced body, with an electric range of around 800 km, based on the generous Chinese testing cycle CLTC, and a maximum power of 630 hp for the top-of-the-line version.
The future 100% electric Smart model may share some components with the Zeekr 007, including the PMA2+ platform, which can utilize 400 V and 800 V electric architectures, and is already used by the Smart #5, as well as the batteries and electric motors. It is worth noting that the Zeekr model is available with two battery versions, one with LFP chemistry with a capacity of 75 kWh and another NMC version with a capacity of 100 kWh.
The Smart #6 is expected to be unveiled later this year, with its market arrival anticipated in early 2026. It is also noteworthy that Smart recently announced plans to enter more than 10 new markets this year, expanding its presence in South America, Africa, and Europe.
