Audi continues to update its electric range and is preparing to launch the facelift of the Q4 e-tron, its 100% electric compact SUV. Despite significant improvements in efficiency and charging, the refresh also brings a controversial change to the interior: the elimination of physical climate controls.
More digital interior — and more dependent on the screen
The Audi Q4 e-tron follows the current industry trend by adopting an even more digital approach.
The main changes include:
- new central screen of 12.8 inches
- digital instrument panel of 11.9 inches
- optional: passenger screen of 12 inches
However, there is a noticeable absence: the physical climate buttons have disappeared, now being controlled exclusively through the infotainment system.
A decision that may divide opinions, especially among users who value ergonomics and ease of use.

V2L and V2H: the Q4 becomes a power source
Among the most relevant new features is the introduction of bidirectional charging.
The Q4 now offers:
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) — allows powering external devices up to 2.3 kW
- option with adapter up to 3.6 kW
- in some markets: Vehicle-to-Home (V2H)
This transforms the SUV into a true “power bank” on wheels, useful for both outdoor activities and emergency situations.
Improvements in charging and range
The version with an 82 kWh battery now supports charging up to 185 kW (previously 175 kW).
Results:
- up to 180 km of range in 10 minutes
- 10% to 80% in about 27 minutes
Additionally, the model benefits from:
- a new more efficient rear motor
- optimized transmission
- improvements in software and electronics
All of this contributes to an increase in autonomy of up to 32 km, depending on the version.
Competitive autonomy in the segment
According to the WLTP cycle:
- most efficient version (Sportback): up to 592 km
- base version: about 451 km
Values that keep the Q4 competitive in the compact electric SUV segment.

A model in transition
This facelift comes at a time of transition for Audi, which is already preparing a new generation of models with a greater focus on ergonomics — including the return of more physical controls, as suggested by the recent Concept C.
Imminent launch
Orders in Europe will start next month, with the first deliveries expected in the summer.
