The Porsche has now revealed that the renewed Taycan is one step away from completing tests before entering production.
With its arrival in the market scheduled for next spring, the renewed 100% electric sedan from the Stuttgart brand continues to undergo the final phase of tests under extreme conditions.
In Finland, about 350 km from the Arctic Circle, the Taycan is revealing its full potential in terms of driving dynamics in snow and ice, also revealing reduced charging times by almost half at colder temperatures.
At the same time, Porsche engineers are taking advantage of the scorching heat of Death Valley in California to perform performance tests on the 100% electric model. Among other functions, the Porsche development team has tested the battery charging system and the reliability of the thermal management system under extreme temperatures.
Porsche also revealed that prototypes of the new sedan, Sport Turismo, and Cross Turismo versions have already traveled about 3.6 million kilometers in test spaces, circuits, and public roads around the world.
“At launch, in a few months, the substantially updated Taycan will have undergone exhaustive tests worldwide, in a total of 17 countries, at temperatures ranging from -41º to +53º Celsius,” emphasized Florian Stahl, responsible for Taycan tests.
