Renault 5 E-Tech: novas imagens do ícone reinventado

The Renault 5 was born half a century ago, and is reborn electric in 2024, with the promise of being one of the most affordable 100% electric models on the market. The compact, originally from 1972, was a symbol of pop culture, and marked generations of drivers with its fascination that did not look at ages or genders. A memorable career of 24 years, interrupted in 1996, and about to be resumed, under the auspices of the imminent new era of the automotive industry, that of electrification, which will bring the R5 back to the scene, powered exclusively by a battery electric motor.

With its debut already confirmed for the next Geneva Motor Show, starting from February 26, 2024, Renault is gradually revealing new images of its reinvented icon. Among the most original style details, the digital panel in place of the air intake on the hood of the classic model, with a battery charge indicator light, forming a complete “5” number when the car is fully charged.

With a length of 3.92 m, the R5 E-Tech will have a 52 kWh capacity battery, which gives it a range of up to 400 km in the combined WLTP cycle, and is based on the new AmpR Small platform (previously called CMF-B EV), with multi-link rear suspension. Equipped with a bidirectional onboard charger, the Renault 5 E-Tech electric will be the first production car in the brand to have V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology.
