Toprak Razgatlioglu, Misano, BMW Motorrad
The ROKiT BMW Motorrad rider, Toprak Razgatlioglu, impressively achieved a hat-trick of victories in the WorldSBK races in Misano, with a dominant win in Race 2 in Emilia Romagna, Italy.
After triumphing in the first two races of the weekend and aiming for a hat-trick of wins earlier in the week, Razgatlioglu successfully achieved his goal from the leading position on Sunday afternoon.
However, after a chaotic opening lap, the Turkish rider had to push even harder during the early stages.
Bulega took a narrow lead over Andrea Iannone, followed by Alex Lowes, Andrea Locatelli, and Razgatlioglu, who dropped from pole position to fifth place.
But the BMW rider made a bold move at Turn 10 to secure third place.
By the end of the lap, he was in second position after overtaking Lowes at Turn 14, and had to start chasing Bulega, who had established an early lead due to the chaos behind.
Meanwhile, Iannone’s performance plummeted, dropping to 10th place, struggling with an apparent issue with his Team GoEleven Ducati.
While Razgatlioglu chased Bulega, who was 1.5 seconds ahead on the 4th lap, Lowes was right behind the BMW rider, only 1.3 seconds behind in third place.
Alvaro Bautista was not having an easy time in fourth place, with the reigning champion unlikely to challenge the top three in the early stages.
Razgatlioglu desired a hat-trick of wins, and with 16 laps remaining, this seemed increasingly likely as the Turkish rider closed in on Bulega’s rear wheel.
The BMW rider made his move at Turn 8 with 14 laps to go and managed to defend against Bulega on the pit straight to maintain the lead.
Jonathan Rea guaranteed a top-10 ahead of Iannone, with Scott Redding showing a significant improvement in 12th place on the BMW Bonovo Action M 1000 RR.
Sam Lowes, from Marc VDS Ducati, recovered from two retirements in the first two races to finish 13th, while Tito Rabat, from Puccetti Racing Kawasaki, and Philipp Oettl, from GMT94 Yamaha, completed the scoring positions.
