The team is all set to introduce former MMA fighter and six-time UFC Champion, Randy Couture, as the driver for this exciting new program.
Couture, known for his illustrious career in the UFC, along with his stints as a commentator, actor, and former U.S. Army Sergeant, will be undergoing the NHRA Pro Mod licensing process in the coming months to gear up for his anticipated debut in 2025.
Expressing his enthusiasm for this new chapter in his life, Couture shared, “I’m excited because we share a lot of the same values and I think this is going to be a very, very good relationship. I’m excited to jump in with both feet. It’s not something I ever saw myself doing, but neither was fighting, and neither was acting, and those things turned out pretty well.”
With a background in wrestling and martial arts, Couture is eager to bring his competitive spirit to the world of drag racing. He believes that his experience in combat sports will be a valuable asset in his racing career. “I have no idea how it’s going to go but I’m excited about the opportunities. To be a SCAG guy and involved with SCAG is huge to me. I think we’re going to make a mark in the sport, reach new eyes, potentially from the MMA world and the rest of the world that are going to be interested in this world simply because of this relationship and that’s what it’s all about.”
