Formula 1 is gearing up for the second stage of the 2024 F1 World Championship in the stunning city of Jeddah. Exciting plans have been revealed for a new race track, known as the Speed Park Track, which will be located near the majestic Tuwaiq Mountains.
The Executive Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, Abdullah Aldawood, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating that the Speed Park Track will embody Qiddiya’s philosophy on the power of play. This track will establish the city of Qiddiya as a hub for Saudi motorsport and position it as one of the premier motorsport venues in the world.
Aldawood further added that visitors and spectators can expect an unparalleled racing experience at the Speed Park Track. The innovative design of the track will allow it to host some of the biggest motorsport events in the world.
According to a report from Meed, the local company United Maintenance and Contracting Company (Unimac) has been awarded a contract worth an estimated SR1.8 billion ($480 million) to construct the race track and its associated infrastructure. The track will meet the stringent requirements set by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) for approval. This includes the implementation of necessary drainage systems, safety measures, and racing electronics.
The race track will be classified as a Grade 1 FIA / Grade A FIM track, situated in the heart of Qiddiya Entertainment City. Once completed, it will have the capacity to host Formula 1 Grand Prix and MotoGP races.
The initial phase of the project is estimated at approximately SR7 billion ($1.9 billion). Additional works, which are still in the design phase, could potentially increase the total value to up to SR15 billion ($4.0 billion).

The track itself will be surrounded by a dedicated motorsport area and will feature iconic track design elements instantly recognizable to racing enthusiasts. The highlight of the track will be the innovative “Blade” at turn one, an impressive elevated section that rises over 20 stories above the ground.
The Speed Park Track offers multiple configurations with two distinct sections, including a section designed for street circuits and a fast open track section. These sections are fully integrated with the neighboring attractions of Qiddiya, creating a harmonious blend of entertainment, sports, and culture.
For motorsport enthusiasts, the spectator experience at Speed Park Track is unparalleled. With multiple viewing points and observation terraces located both at the edge of the track and within it, fans can enjoy a thrilling and immersive racing experience that is truly unique.
In addition to the exciting races, the circuit will also be surrounded by adrenaline-filled attractions, experiences, and events. This combination of motorsport and cultural/entertainment centers will create a vibrant atmosphere that embodies Qiddiya’s philosophy on the power of play.
To further increase the excitement and create an unparalleled experience, the track will seamlessly integrate with neighboring attractions. For example, the “Blade” curve will rise above a concert hall, while racers will speed alongside Falcon’s Flight, the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world located at Six Flags Qiddiya City nearby. Additionally, certain sections of the track will run alongside a water theme park within the city.
