Pierre Gasly desdramatiza excesso de peso do Alpine: ‘Não é tão mau como disseram’

Alpine was clearly the weakest link in the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying, with their drivers finishing in the last two positions on the grid. The A524 has issues, with one of them believed to be excess weight.

There are rumors that the excess weight could be 10kg to 11kg above the regulatory minimum of 798kg – which, naturally, is the target for all teams. However, quoted by the website PlanetF1.com, Pierre Gasly assured that the situation is not as serious as it was portrayed:

“It’s not as bad as they said. It’s obvious that there is lap time to find, a bit everywhere. And looking at the gaps, there is some work to do. When looking at the gaps, everything matters and 2kg is equal to six tenths of a second, and six tenths of a second will make a difference.”

Despite the challenging road ahead, the French driver emphasized that there will be updates: “There is some weight to be reduced, there is some performance to come from the chassis, there will be updates. It’s not the position we want to be in, but we are all in the same boat and we will try to make the best of it every time.”
