Oscar Piastri, a McLaren driver, expressed his satisfaction with an eighth place in the Bahrain Grand Prix of Formula 1. He compared this result to last year, when McLaren faced problems with an uncompetitive and unreliable car. Piastri’s debut in the race ended prematurely due to car issues, while his teammate, Lando Norris, also struggled and finished far behind. However, McLaren made significant progress throughout the season and finished with Piastri in eighth place and Norris in sixth place, respectively. Piastri acknowledged the strong performance of Mercedes and Ferrari, but still considered his own result a positive start to the year. Looking ahead, Piastri mentioned that the upcoming races will have different layouts and surfaces, and he hopes that this will work in his favor. Despite the gap to the leaders, Piastri remains realistic about McLaren’s expectations compared to the current constructors’ champions.
