Nissan Ariya testa nova geração da tecnologia ProPILOT

Nissan announced that it has begun demonstrations of its next generation of advanced driver assistance technology, ProPILOT, in September, ahead of the expected launch in Japan, which will take place in the fiscal year 2027.

In this way, one of the fully electric prototypes, based on the Nissan Ariya, is already on the road, testing the new technology and demonstrating the ability to drive safely and confidently in the demanding urban environment of Tokyo.

Combining Wayve’s “Wayve AI Driver” software, which applies cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology to driving, with Nissan’s “Ground Truth Perception” technology, which integrates a next-generation LiDAR system capable of detecting objects at greater distances than cameras, the new ProPILOT aims to set new standards for driver assistance technologies.

It is worth noting that Nissan has been progressively evolving its driver assistance technology: from single-lane highway driving (ProPILOT) to multi-lane support (ProPILOT 2.0).

With the next generation of ProPILOT, Nissan aims to provide reliable assistance even on complex urban roads.

“Our ProPILOT 2.0 system has been well received, but the next generation of Nissan’s ProPILOT technology will bring even more innovative features and provide the feeling of having an experienced human driver behind the wheel. Additionally, it will adapt to more complex traffic conditions and offer greater confidence and peace of mind, while enhancing safety not only for the driver but for all road users,” said Eiichi Akashi, Director of Technology at Nissan.
