It is tomorrow, November 29, that the highly anticipated miniseries Senna premieres, following the extraordinary journey of Formula 1 icon Ayrton Senna.
In six episodes, the miniseries depicts Senna’s life, tracing his rise to glory in F1 and his lasting impact on motorsport.
To create this miniseries about the long life, Netflix needed a lot of replicas of F1 racing models, and for this journey to Argentina, Crespis produced 22 single-seaters for the series, which included replicas of all the cars used during the Brazilian three-time champion’s career, from a Formula Ford to the Toleman TG184, and while not a Brazilian star in F1, the Williams FW16 suffered a fatal accident at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
Each single-seater was built specifically for filming, with custom engines, as well as suspension and other components, so they could be adapted for driving in each of the scenes.
With the new miniseries Senna, Netflix aims to provide both fans of Ayrton Senna and new audiences with an intimate look at a motorsport legend whose legacy endures nearly 30 years after his passing.
