The G500 will continue to be available in some markets, featuring a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline engine, now supported by mild hybrid technology with 449 hp and 560 Nm of torque
On the other hand, the AMG G 63 variant uses the well-known 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with 585 hp of power and a maximum torque of 850 Nm, now incorporating a mild hybrid system.
This version is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 220 km/h. With the optional AMG Performance pack, the top speed increases to 240 km/h and the acceleration from 0 to 100% is achieved in 4.3 seconds.
When it comes to design, the renewed G-Class looks identical to its predecessor, but it is equipped with a set of changes starting with a new front bumper and a new radiator grille with four horizontal slats, instead of the traditional three slats, while the “A” pillars have been rounded.
As standard, the renewed G-Class comes equipped with 18’’ wheels optimized aerodynamically, and as an option, 20’’ wheels are available.
No interior, the G-Class receives the latest version of the MBUX infotainment system, which means it now features a 10.25’’ touchscreen, along with a 10.25’’ instrument panel screen, a wireless phone charger, side air vents in the round shape of the headlights now available with lighting. Additionally, the multifunction steering wheel with touch controls is leather-wrapped as standard.
Furthermore, the range also includes keyless entry and start Keyless Go, Burmester Premium 3D sound system with Dolby Atmos, active emergency braking assist, and an Offroad Cockpit front camera to provide better visibility of obstacles using a new “transparent hood” view – a change that required Mercedes to install a small automatic washing jet to ensure the camera stays clean.
What has not changed is the off-road capability of the well-known Mercedes SUV, which features a ground clearance of 229 mm in conventional versions and 241 mm in the AMG version, a fording depth of 70 cm, approach angle of 31 degrees, and the ability to remain stable on inclines of up to 35 degrees.
“The new G-Class combines an excellent driving experience with a state-of-the-art digital experience.”, emphasized Markus Schäfer, member of the board of management of Mercedes-Benz.
