Max Verstappen assinará com a Mercedes após pai ser visto em reunião privada com Toto Wolff.

Mercedes needs a new driver after Lewis Hamilton’s decision to go to Ferrari. Toto Wolff, Mercedes team principal, recently had a significant conversation with Jos Verstappen, Max Verstappen’s father, during the Bahrain Grand Prix. This has sparked rumors about the possibility of Verstappen joining Mercedes amid the turmoil at Red Bull Racing. Uncertainty arises from controversies surrounding Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal, and allegations of misconduct. Even though Horner was cleared after an investigation, concerns about Verstappen’s future at the team continue to persist. Jos Verstappen expressed his dissatisfaction with Horner’s leadership and called for his resignation during the Bahrain event. Although Wolff described his interaction with Jos as a exchange of congratulations for Verstappen’s recent achievements, it hinted at broader implications. When asked about the possible transition of Verstappen to Mercedes in 2025, Wolff’s response was enigmatic but suggestive, stating: “Everything is possible.”

Mercedes now needs a new driver because Lewis Hamilton has decided to go to Ferrari. With uncertainty surrounding Red Bull, Verstappen has emerged as a potential candidate for Mercedes, as suggested by former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher. Although Verstappen is contractually tied to Red Bull until 2028, there is a possibility of a termination clause that could allow him to explore other options, according to team consultant Helmut Marko. Despite Horner’s resignation requests and Verstappen’s reserved support for the team principal, the situation remains precarious. Christian Horner’s position at Red Bull is still threatened as the FIA intervenes. Verstappen has expressed confidence in the ongoing process within Red Bull, but refrained from further comments, emphasizing the need for patience. Wolff’s interest in Verstappen highlights the potential for a significant shift in Formula 1 dynamics, positioning Verstappen as a strong successor to Hamilton at Mercedes. As discussions and speculations continue, the possibility of Verstappen joining Mercedes in the near future cannot be ignored.
