In a thrilling turn of events in the world of Formula 1, Red Bull’s protest in Canada seems to be intricately linked to the future of their star driver, Verstappen.

After the Canadian Grand Prix, Red Bull lodged a formal protest with the FIA regarding George Russell’s on-track behavior during a Safety Car period. The team contended that the Montreal winner had braked irregularly while the race was under caution. However, the Federation swiftly dismissed the claim as “unfounded.”

Behind the scenes, tensions were running high, echoing the clash in Barcelona between George Russell and Max Verstappen. Toto Wolff, known for his strong opinions, directed sharp criticism towards the rival Red Bull team while notably sparing Verstappen. He stated, “I am 100% sure it is not Max’s fault. He is a driver and would never lodge a complaint over such a trivial matter.”

Renowned F1 journalist Michael Schmidt shared his insights on the matter in a podcast, suggesting, “I believe that Red Bull protested because they are still afraid that Max Verstappen might leave them for Mercedes next year. They wanted to show their driver that they would go to great lengths for him, even if there was minimal hope of success.”

The brewing controversy between teams and drivers adds a layer of intrigue to the upcoming races, hinting at deeper power struggles and future lineup changes that could significantly impact the F1 landscape. Stay tuned for more updates as the drama unfolds in the high-stakes world of Formula 1.
