Max Verstappen’s Imminent Ban Triggers Red Bull’s Backup Plan with Lawson or Hadjar

Red Bull on the Brink: Contingency Plan Unveiled in Case Verstappen Faces Disqualification

The Formula 1 world is buzzing with anticipation and anxiety as Red Bull Racing braces for a potential disaster involving their star driver, Max Verstappen. With only one point left on his Super License following a penalty for his clash with George Russell in Barcelona, Verstappen is teetering on the edge of disqualification. Any minor infraction during the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix could spell disaster, causing him to miss the team’s home race in Austria.

In response to this looming threat, Red Bull has set in motion a contingency plan, ready to be activated should Verstappen be unable to participate in the race weekend at the Red Bull Ring in June. While the team from Milton Keynes is reluctant to entertain the idea, they are not taking any chances and have already identified potential replacements.

According to a spokesperson from Red Bull, either Liam Lawson or Isack Hadjar will step in to fill Verstappen’s shoes if the need arises. The French rookie, Hadjar, seems to be the frontrunner for the role, given his impressive performances so far. Lawson, who has had a tumultuous start to the season, is also in contention.

Meanwhile, speculation is rife within the Racing Bulls camp about the possible reshuffling of their lineup. Arvid Lindblad, a promising talent from the Red Bull junior team mentored by Helmut Marko, has emerged as a potential candidate. Currently competing in F2 and sitting third in the standings, Lindblad could be granted a Super License waiver by the FIA, paving the way for his debut in Formula 1.

In the event of Verstappen’s disqualification, the Japanese driver Ayumu Iwasa, currently serving as a reserve driver supported by Honda, is poised to step up to the plate. Iwasa, who has already tested with the Racing Bulls during post-season sessions in Abu Dhabi, and even participated in FP1 at the Japanese Grand Prix last year in place of Daniel Ricciardo, is seen as a viable replacement.

As the tension mounts and the stakes grow higher, the world watches with bated breath to see how Red Bull will navigate this precarious situation and whether Verstappen will manage to steer clear of further trouble on the track.
