Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, has had enough of the relentless questions about his penalty points. The Dutch driver exploded in anger during the post-qualifying press conference at the Canadian Grand Prix. Despite securing the second position in Q3, Verstappen found himself bombarded with inquiries regarding his disciplinary situation, the looming threat of disqualification for a race, and the upcoming grid position next to George Russell’s Mercedes, following their past clashes in Baku 2022, Qatar 2024, and Barcelona 2025.

In a fit of frustration, Verstappen lashed out at the journalists, expressing his annoyance vividly: “I don’t need to hear it again. It pisses me off. You’re speaking about it on Thursday… such a waste of time, childish. Really annoying.” The driver’s exasperation was palpable as he made it clear that he was fed up with the continuous scrutiny surrounding his penalties.

When asked if he felt different heading into the race knowing he was on the verge of a disqualification, Verstappen simply responded by gesturing ‘ok’ with a thumbs-up, eliciting laughter from Russell and Piastri beside him. Despite the tense atmosphere, Verstappen remained focused on his goal of reaching the podium in the upcoming race. He acknowledged the strength of Mercedes in the race simulations and the competitive edge of McLaren, emphasizing the need to concentrate on delivering the best performance possible.

As the drama unfolds on and off the track, Verstappen’s determination to succeed amidst adversity only adds to the anticipation of the thrilling race ahead.
