Jeep has announced that it will launch a 100% electric version of the Renegade by 2027, which promises to have an entry price below €23,000.

The confirmation of the new version of the Jeep SUV was made by Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, during Stellantis Investor Day, where he made it clear that the new variant of the Renegade will use a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery to reduce costs.

The switch to the new LFP batteries indicates that the new Renegade may be based on the Smart Car platform, the same one used by the Citroën e-C3, presented last year, and which will be used in the new Citroën C3 Aircross, Fiat Grande Panda, and Opel Frontera.

In addition to the new 100% electric Renegade, Jeep will launch a new generation of the Compass, the brand’s compact SUV, in 2027, which will bring electrified versions.

In addition to the 100% electric Renegade and the new generation Compass, Jeep has also confirmed that it has a third SUV on the way, internally known as “New UV Mainstream,” intended for the D segment and positioned below the Grand Cherokee.

With these new models, Jeep hopes to increase its market share from 45% to 85% in the US and boost global sales from one million to 1.5 million. The American brand also revealed that its strategy involves expanding its production in the US from 760,000 models to over one million.
