Ineos Automotive announced that the production of the robust SUV Grenadier and the Quartermaster pickup has resumed at the vehicle factory in Hambach, France, after a three-month halt.
The production halt was due to the insolvency of Recaro Automotive, the supplier of seats for both Ineos models. However, the investment from the Italian Proma Group, a company that manufactures automotive components and operates 26 factories across three continents, allowed the German company to restart production in early 2025.
“This is a good start to the year for us; I believe it will be our best year to date, supported by the over 40% growth we achieved in 2024,” said Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive.
Ineos Automotive had planned to add two more SUVs to its portfolio, including a 100% electric model, as well as start production at a second factory. However, in the summer of 2024, it decided to temporarily suspend its plans and focus its objectives on new variants of the Grenadier and Quartermaster, as well as entering new markets.
“We are very proud to have over 20,000 vehicles on the road worldwide. New and important markets, such as Mexico and China, have created a growing demand at a time when we had to pause production. Now we are ready and prepared to meet our customers’ requests,” concluded Lynn Calder.
