Imola Grand Prix: Norris pressiona Verstappen

From the start, it was a battle between Max Verstappen and the McLaren pair, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, at Imola. The young Australian gave the Red Bull champion a run for his money in qualifying, but was penalized for obstruction. He recovered well and finished in third place.

At the front, the podium trio in Imola started and finished in the same positions. Verstappen came in first, with Norris in second and Charles Leclerc in third for Ferrari. The race remained in a deadlock from the moment the lights went out to start the 31st Grand Prix at Imola.

Norris and Verstappen were the highlights of the show, as the Red Bull driver did not simply dominate the race. Norris managed to keep him at a distance of six to eight seconds. Then, in an exciting finish, Norris closed in on the World Champion at a rate of about half a second per lap, but he ran out of time. Max emerged victorious once again, but had to work hard for it.

Meanwhile, Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull had a disappointing performance, as did the Mercedes duo and a struggling Fernando Alonso.
