In the Le Mans 24 Hours, Ryo Hirakawa, driving the Toyota GR010 Hybrid #8, is currently leading after 16 hours of racing. The last four hours have been held under the Safety Car due to heavy rain, resulting in no racing action. As the 16th hour came to an end, conditions improved and the Safety Car intervention allowed for merging and passing phases. The drivers have been moving at a slow pace, only making pit stops for driver changes. Behind Hirakawa is Laurens Vanthoor in the Penske Porsche 963 in second place, with Nicklas Nielsen in the Ferrari 499P #50 in third. Nyck de Vries is in fourth in the second Toyota, and Robert Kubica is in fifth in the AF Corse Ferrari #83. Surprisingly, 11 Hypercars are still on the same lap, setting the stage for an intense eight-hour race once the Safety Car passage is completed.
In the LMP2 category, Ben Barnicoat in the Corse Oreca 07-Gibson #183 is leading, with six cars still on the same lap. Bijoy Garg is in second place in the United Autosports car #22, followed by Stephane Richelmi in the Vector Sport car #10 in third. Malthe Jakobsen from Cool Racing is in fourth place in car #37, and Vladislav Lomko is in fifth in the Inter Europol car #34. In the LMGT3 class, 11 cars are on the same lap, and a Manthey Porsche is leading as the race returns to green flag conditions. Klaus Bachler is leading in the Porsche 911 GT3 R #92, with Richard Lietz in car #91 in second place. Hiroshi Hamaguchi is in third place driving the United Autosports McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo #95.
