Hill claims that Red Bull is at a disadvantage in the Formula 1 championship battle due to Perez.

Hill afirma que a Red Bull está em desvantagem na batalha do campeonato de Fórmula 1 devido a Perez

Damon Hill, the former Formula 1 champion in 1996, stated that Red Bull Racing will face a challenging battle in the championship due to Sergio Perez’s contract renewal. Red Bull officially confirmed that Perez will continue to be part of the team alongside Max Verstappen until 2026. However, Perez’s recent performance has been disappointing, with him failing to advance to Q3 and only scoring four points in the last two races. The competition from Ferrari and McLaren has also intensified, reducing Red Bull’s advantage in the Constructors’ Championship to 24 points. Hill believes that Red Bull’s vulnerability lies in the consistent difference between Verstappen and Perez, as well as the increased competitiveness among the top teams.

Hill’s concerns align with the opinions expressed by McLaren’s Lando Norris during the Monaco Grand Prix. Norris emphasized that McLaren and Ferrari have the advantage of having two equally strong drivers. He mentioned his team’s potential to turn things around in the championship, highlighting their consistent performance in qualifying and races. Norris pointed out that many other teams do not have the strength of having two competitive drivers, with one standing out while the other struggles. McLaren and Ferrari, on the other hand, can rely on both their drivers to consistently deliver strong performances.
