Finalmente, a vitória em casa! Charles Leclerc dominou o GP do Mónaco

After several failed attempts, Charles Leclerc achieved the long-awaited home victory. The driver completely dominated the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix race, held this Sunday in Monte Carlo. The race summary The start of the race was a tale of two halves for Ferrari. Starting in pole position, Leclerc managed to take advantage of the favorable position to stay ahead of Oscar Piastri (McLaren/Mercedes). Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz encountered problems and fell behind. After the first corner, Kevin Magnussen (Haas) collided with Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), causing a spectacular accident in which Nico Hülkenberg (Haas) was also involved. The race had to be interrupted with a red flag to remove the cars and clean the track, but the drivers emerged unharmed.

Once again, Leclerc stayed ahead of Piastri, with Sainz managing to hold onto third place without any issues this time. Lando Norris (McLaren/Mercedes) finished fourth, with George Russell (Mercedes) in fifth.

As is usual in Monaco, there were not many overtakes or real on-track battles, with the positions remaining stable in the top four despite the distances not being significant. Russell, on the other hand, was lonely in fifth, just like Max Verstappen (Red Bull) in sixth.

With about 30 laps to go, Norris increased his pace and got within a second of Sainz’s third place, but he never really threatened the position. The Spaniard, on the other hand, closed in significantly on Piastri in the last ten laps. However, he never managed to launch an attack on the twisty and narrow streets of Monaco.

In a race with little drama, Leclerc dominated, finally achieving victory for a Monegasque in Monaco. Piastri finished second 7.152s behind, with Sainz in third to complete the podium. Norris secured fourth place ahead of Russell, while Verstappen lost ground to all his main rivals and finished sixth.

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) took seventh place, followed by Yuki Tsunoda (VCARB). Scoring the first two points of the season for Williams, Alexander Albon finished ninth, while Pierre Gasly (Alpine) scored his first points of 2024 with a tenth place finish. He beat Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin/Mercedes) by over 19 seconds.
