FIA rejects Red Bull F1’s concern about competitors’ flexible wings – report

The FIA has decided not to initiate an investigation into the alleged excessive flexing of the Mercedes front wing. According to reports, the FIA sees no need to intervene or take any action in response to Red Bull’s concerns about the flexibility of their rivals’ front wing designs in Formula 1. Although teams have admitted to pushing the limits of the regulations in pursuit of competitiveness, the FIA is reportedly satisfied with the current front wing designs. This decision by the FIA also means that the existing tests to determine the legality of the wings will remain unchanged. The FIA will continue to strengthen these tests to prevent teams from exceeding the limits set by the technical regulations. Red Bull had specifically highlighted Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes as teams of concern, with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff acknowledging that they have taken their designs to the extreme. However, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko denied that the team had formally lodged a complaint with the FIA, stating that they simply observed the issue. Marko described this type of complaint as a normal part of the game in Formula 1, where teams often raise concerns about their rivals’ activities.
