Ferrari’s future star? Oliver Bearman poised to replace Lewis Hamilton if he retires

Ferrari’s Future Star? Oliver Bearman Positioned as Top Contender for Lewis Hamilton’s Seat!

In a bold proclamation that’s sending shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, former Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner has put the spotlight squarely on Oliver Bearman as the *irrefutable choice* for Ferrari should Lewis Hamilton decide to hang up his racing gloves this year. The young British driver, who joined the illustrious Ferrari Driver Academy in 2021, has been making headlines with his meteoric rise, and it seems the Scuderia is keeping a close eye on his trajectory.

Bearman, now just 20 years old, has already carved out a niche for himself in the competitive realm of Formula 1. His debut season was anything but smooth sailing, marred by a disastrous crash during the first practice of the Australian Grand Prix and a string of errors that plagued the early part of his campaign. However, this tenacious racer demonstrated remarkable resilience, turning his season around dramatically in the latter half. He transformed from a rookie struggling with consistency into a formidable contender, regularly securing spots in Q3 and racking up points with an impressive performance.

The highlight of Bearman’s season came during a thrilling race in Mexico City, where he not only showcased his undeniable talent but also engaged in fierce battles against none other than Max Verstappen. Despite the challenges, including an accumulation of penalty points that left him perilously close to a race ban, Bearman emerged as a driver who can handle the pressure and perform under the spotlight.

Steiner elaborated on Bearman’s evolution during a recent episode of the Red Flags podcast, stating, “At the start of 2025 he was fast but making mistakes. But in the second half of the season, he got rid of them, just like a switch.” This transformation has left Steiner convinced that the young driver is well-prepared for the big leagues, declaring, “For him, the door should be open at Ferrari for ’27 because if Lewis hasn’t got the success he needs, I don’t think he continues.”

As the racing world buzzes with speculation about Hamilton’s future, Bearman stands out as the *obvious candidate* to fill that illustrious seat at Ferrari. With his combination of speed, growing experience, and the ability to thrive amid the pressures of F1, the young star is poised to take the next step in his career. It seems that the Ferrari faithful may soon have a new hero to rally behind, with Oliver Bearman ready to write the next exhilarating chapter in F1 history!

As the clock ticks down on Hamilton’s storied career, anticipation mounts—will we witness the rise of Bearman as the next F1 sensation? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain: all eyes will be on Ferrari and their emerging star as the 2027 season approaches!
