Ferrari tests future F1 tires from Pirelli in Mugello.

Ferrari has completed a two-day test at the Mugello circuit, where they tested the 2025 specification tires that Pirelli plans to introduce in Formula 1 for the next season. Pirelli has conducted tests with different teams at various locations, including Barcelona, Jerez, Suzuka, and Paul Ricard, in order to gather crucial data on the new rubber compound they intend to use in 2025. Mugello was chosen as the latest location for the tests due to its combination of medium to high-speed corners, which provides an ideal environment for evaluation. Charles Leclerc completed 120 laps on the track, which hosted the inaugural Tuscan Grand Prix in 2020, using a hard compound tire that was specifically designed to avoid overheating. However, a brief afternoon rain interrupted the testing program, leading Ferrari and Pirelli to opt for the use of intermediate tires. Carlos Sainz had a smoother experience behind the wheel of the Ferrari SF-24 car, completing 135 laps and concluding Ferrari’s second testing session with Pirelli.
