Raul Fernandez, a member of Trackhouse Racing, expressed his desire to continue competing in the premier class of MotoGP instead of dropping down to a Moto2 race next season. Despite his previous difficulties in MotoGP, Fernandez has shown improvement in the current season, scoring points in the last five Grand Prix races and currently occupying 12th position in the Championship. Fernandez’s standout performance came at the Catalunya Grand Prix, where he led the Sprint and finished sixth in the main race. As vacancies for the 2025 season are being filled, Fernandez hopes to remain with the Trackhouse Aprilia team in MotoGP. While he acknowledges that a return to Moto2 is a possibility, Fernandez stated that he has other priorities before considering such a change. It is worth noting that few riders have successfully recovered from a demotion to the intermediate class of MotoGP, with Aleix Espargaro being the most notable exception, achieving three victories with Aprilia during his Moto2 stint from 2010 to 2012.
