Friday training took place under the beautiful Spanish sun. Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes achieved the fastest time during Free Practice 2 for the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix. He completed a lap on the Barcelona circuit in 1:13.264s. Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, a favorite among the local audience, finished in second place, just 0.022s behind Hamilton. Lando Norris from McLaren secured the third position with a lap time of 1:13.319s, making three different teams occupy the podium. Pierre Gasly from Alpine impressed with the fourth fastest time, while Max Verstappen completed the top five. Charles Leclerc improved his performance in FP1 and finished in sixth place in FP2, followed by Oscar Piastri from McLaren in seventh. George Russell from Mercedes secured eighth place, ahead of Esteban Ocon from Alpine and Valtteri Bottas from Sauber, who completed the top 10.
