Dunne Dominates Spa Qualifying with Record-Breaking Lap to Secure F2 Pole Position

In a jaw-dropping display of skill and speed, Alex Dunne set the track on fire at Spa-Francorchamps, claiming the coveted pole position in Formula 2 qualifying. The Irish sensation left his competitors in the dust with a final lap that was simply untouchable, clocking in at an impressive 1:57.151s.

Dunne’s stellar performance not only secured him the top spot on the grid for the Feature Race but also sent a clear message to his closest rivals that he is a force to be reckoned with. Ritomo Miyata and Roman Stanek rounded out the top three, while Dunne’s main title challengers were left scrambling outside the top 10.

Earlier in the day, Dunne had already shown his dominance by topping the timesheets in Free Practice with a blistering time of 1:59.519s. This remarkable display of speed and skill solidified his position as a top contender for victory in Spa.

The qualifying session saw all 22 drivers pushing their limits under clear skies and optimal track conditions. As the drivers battled it out on the longest circuit of the calendar, it was Dunne who emerged as the ultimate victor, leaving his competitors gasping for air with his unmatched pace.

With the championship race heating up, Dunne’s pole position serves as a statement of intent as he looks to close the gap on championship leader Richard Verschoor. The stage is set for a thrilling showdown as Round 9 of the 2025 campaign unfolds.

As the dust settled on a dramatic qualifying session, Dunne stood tall as the undisputed king of Spa, ready to take on whatever challenges come his way in the pursuit of glory. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds on the track, with Dunne leading the charge towards victory in Formula 2.
