The VR46 rider, Fabio Di Giannantonio, praised the current MotoGP bikes, stating that the modern specification provides a feeling similar to “driving a Formula 1 car on two wheels”. The bikes, which were updated for the 2024 season, have significantly increased their top speed, resulting in several lap records being broken. While this has received criticism from some people in the paddock, such as Gresini Ducati rider Marc Marquez, Di Giannantonio finds the bikes more satisfying to ride. He believes that MotoGP bikes should be prototypes and represent the pinnacle of motorcycle engineering. The new aerodynamic features and increased power excite him, as they make him feel like he is driving a Formula 1 car. Despite the challenges posed by current aerodynamics in terms of racing and overtaking, Di Giannantonio maintains that MotoGP should keep the current regulations, as he personally finds the current bikes fantastic and would not want to go back to previous specifications.
